Citizens National Bank today announced the retirement of Nancy Lindsay, Vice President of Marketing, after 20 years of exemplary service. Nancy has been a cornerstone in the growth and success of the bank, bringing unparalleled dedication, insight, and leadership to the marketing division and the broader community. Under Nancy's leadership, the bank has seen the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing the bank's presence in northern Michigan and beyond.
Matthew Keene, President and CEO of Citizens National Bank, said, "It's with a mixture of gratitude and sadness that we announce Nancys retirement. Nancy has been more than a Vice President; she has been a visionary leader whose impact goes beyond the confines of our bank. Her dedication to community, innovative marketing strategies, and commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on not only our institution but also on the communities we serve. We are immensely grateful for her contributions and wish Nancy all the best in her well-deserved retirement in June."
Nancy attended the American Bankers Association School of Marketing in Atlanta, GA earning her Certified Financial Marketing Professional designation, and currently teaches the marketing class for the Michigan Bankers Association (MBA) Perry School of Banking in East Lansing, MI. Nancy attended the University of Wisconsin Green Bay majoring in Urban & Public Affairs.
Nancy's accomplishments are many and varied including leading the growth marketing strategy as a key member of the bank's leadership team. Beyond her professional achievements Nancy has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance, the Michigan Bankers Association Marketing Committee, the Cheboygan Downtown Development Authority and the Little Traverse Conservancy, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to community development and environmental conservation. She also served on the Straits Area Community Foundation – Grant Screening , Regional DECA Judge ,Cheboygan Area Schools – Career Technology Education – Advisor , and Junior Achievement Tip of the Mitt-Chair 2013-2022. She was the race director of Churchill Classic ½ Marathon, 10 & 5k Trail Run from 2005-2019 – raising more than $50,000.00 for local charities.
Nancy's leadership and innovation have been recognized through several awards, such as the Guts & Grit Award by the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance for her innovative “Garage Videos” marketing during the Covid 19 pandemic, the 2019 Cheboygan Businessperson of the Year by the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce and the 2021 Person of the Year by Best of the Tipp of the Mitt. The Michigan Bankers Association recognized Nancy’s marketing with presenting her with the MBA Marketing Award 2005 though 2007for various publications, and on behalf of the bank, the Financial Literacy Award years 2005 through 2022.
As Nancy embarks on this new chapter beginning this July, she leaves behind a legacy of strategic vision, community service, and a culture of excellence that will continue to inspire and guide Citizens National Bank for years to come.
